Halfway between pink and orange, coral is this summer’s fun and vibrant colour trend. Whether in a bright or soft hue; coral infuses interiors with a breath of fresh air. A wall covering here, a few accessories there, some coloured accents among your linen, all of these will illuminate your rental space. Like salt though, coral is to be used sparingly, so how can you adopt it into your home? Here’s the answer…

How to use coral?

Perfect for livening up a space, coral should be used in small doses rather than as a dominant colour theme. A bright, bordering on fluorescent, coral will bring an upbeat, vivid touch to any interior, and when contrasted against a pristine white wall, coral brightens the room with a hint of undeniable pep. Painting just one façade or section of the wall is enough to liven up a space. In softer shades, coral provides an elegant vintage atmosphere, a style which can be either masculine when combined with celadon blue or concrete grey, or feminine when paired with pastels.

Colour associations

Coral goes perfectly with pastel colours (especially light blues and mint greens) as well as neutral shades like pearl grey and taupe. Combined with these it creates a soft atmosphere. Contrasted against white, coral livens up the room with a bright, summery feeling. Paired with gold it becomes chic, and combined with dark wood it creates a retro style.
