Pink, Pantone’s Colour of the year 2016 continues to grace interiors and has become summer 2017’s trendy hue, when used in the powder pink shade, also known as blush. This vintage pink is bright and elegant; it brings light and character to a room. But don’t make it the overarching colour, powder pink blends in subtly in small touches on a wall (like sky blue, it becomes an alternative to white), incorporate it via a sofa, cushions, bed linen, curtains, carpets, crockery... It harmonizes with modern and classic ambiences, without creating an ultra-feminine décor. It can be used in all rooms of the house, and can delight and surprise due to its originality when used on a front door, in brick facings in the kitchen or in metro tiles in the bathroom. Don’t hesitate to adopt it in your rental; it will help create a soothing and warm atmosphere. Like a little blush on your cheeks, powdered pink will liven-up your décor. You can pair it with tonic colours to energize your interior or with light colours to create softness. Favour combining it with anthracite and light greys, English greens, ochres such as mustard, navy blue, terracotta brown, white or with copper and golden metals. Beware of its combination with black which can create a boudoir effect or with sky blue which can evoke a childish universe (although some pairings are very successful). Anyway, give up the fuchsia and pastel roses for a powdered pink that will give a little blush to your décor!
